Aventure Books

for Children

Fable

Reading is one of life’s great pleasures. As well as it being a pleasure, it is also a gateway to learning, not the only one, but a powerful one nonetheless.

Many years ago I encountered some parents reading at their kids and the kids were not as engaged as I expected. In fact I would say the reading sessions before bed time were not ideal, and this got me thinking, and wondering if we could do something about this.

As I had a wonderful time as a child reading Adventure books and navigating myself around the pages. I wondered if this could work for newer readers. Get them engaged by giving them choices.

Though creating these books may sound like it was all one persons effort, that was not the case. It took several people to bring this book to life and in fact more hours than I would like to count.

Months of lunch hours spent editing every word, trying alternative words and sentences to try and get the age group correct. It was a big undertaking for our first book.

Although we created the Five Golden Coins book and sent it off to publishers, we were not successful in finding a publisher.

We did create A Day at the Zoo as a second book, and have several others on various stages of completion (Football Adventure, Hide ‘n Seek). Our day jobs got in the way and we had to leave this project behind.

We also created IOS and Android Apps of both books. Sadly we could not get the interest I had hoped for and eventually the App Stores minimum requirements moved on, and the engine that they were built on was bought and closed down. So no updating it.

However… Now we can self publish and that is an exciting idea.

I really enjoyed testing this out by reading to a whole load of kids.

The kids really liked holding the pictures of each animal, and imitating their noises.
